AFTERCARE
Eyebrows
Your brows will take 2 weeks to heal externally. During this time it is extremely important to avoid direct sun exposure - please wear a hat if you are outside for prolonged periods of time. It’s also very important to avoid getting any makeup or skincare products directly on the brows - they must be kept clean in order to avoid infection & to ensure the pigments heals correctly.
You must avoid direct sun exposure, swimming, hot tubs or saunas, and refrain from getting facials or Botox during this 2 week time frame.
It is also extremely important not to soak the brows. Use caution when showering or washing your face - avoid the jet stream of the shower hitting your face.
The day of your appointment, you must gently wipe or blot your brows with a damp paper towel or cotton round (dampen with warm, sterile water) as soon as you get home from your appointment and then a further 2 or 3 times throughout the remainder of the day. Repeat this process 2 times - once in the morning and once at night - until your brows start to go dry and flakey.
You can apply a thin layer of Aquaphor ointment to the brows using a q-tip once or twice per day if you choose. This will help to alleviate any itching as well as improve the appearance of the brows if they are looking dry/flakey. Although you need to stop wiping/blotting once the brows begin to dry out, you can continue to use the aftercare ointment for the remainder of the 2 week healing period.
After 2 weeks, providing your brows are no longer dry/flakey, you can continue your usual daily routine - you may apply makeup, shower normally, swim and workout if you so desire!
Brow tattooing is a 2 step process - your touch up appointment should be no sooner than 6 weeks after the initial session.
Lips
Your lips will take 7 days to heal externally. During this time it is extremely important to avoid putting any makeup or skincare products on them - doing so can cause a bacterial infection and cause the pigment to heal incorrectly. It is also very important to avoid direct sun exposure, swimming, soaking the lips in any way or working out/sweating.
For the first 3 days you should avoid spicy foods, biting in to foods (e.g. pizza, sandwiches etc) and instead place small forkfuls of food inside your mouth. You should also avoid very hot liquids - allow hot teas/coffees to cool down before drinking. It is also vital to the healing process to drink through clean straws - drinking directly from a glass/cup can cause a bacterial infections and will also soak the lips, which can cause pigment to heal improperly.
Beginning on the day of your appointment, you need to gently wipe or blot clean your lips using a damp paper towel (dampen with slightly warm, sterile water) as close to every 2 hours as you can manage while you’re awake. You may also use the specific brand ‘water wipes’ (no other brand of facial/baby wipes can be used) to wipe with - these are very handy to carry with you if you’re not at home. After wiping, please apply a thin layer of the aftercare ointment provided to you using a q-tip. This process of wiping clean and then applying ointment should be continued for 3 days - so the day of your appointment and the 2 days following. After those 3 days are up you may stop with the wiping/blotting clean. Please continue to apply the ointment a few times a day until the 7 day healing period is up.
After 7 days, providing there is no longer any dry/flakey skin left, you may go back to your usual routine. You can apply makeup, swim, shower and workout as normal. Lip tattooing is a 2 step process - your touch up appointment should be no sooner than 6 weeks after your first session.
Please ensure you use a fresh, clean mask every day for the first week after getting your lips tattooed - this is extremely important. Reusing masks can cause a bacterial infection.
