FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

how many sessions does it take?

For the majority of clients, Cosmetic tattooing requires 2 sessions, with the touch up being 6-12 weeks after the first appointment. For some clients, it may require 3 sessions.

Is the touch up included with the first session?

No - all sessions are priced separately. Please be sure to check the services page to view the cost of touch up sessions.

How long does it take to heal?

For brows, it will typically take 2 weeks for your skin to heal externally but a further 2 weeks for the cosmetic tattoo to settle under the surface. Lips and eyes usually heal within 5-7 days externally, with the colour continuing to develop up to 8 weeks. The healthier your skin is, the better the final healed result will be. If you take good care of your skin and ensure to protect yourself from UV rays, you will have better healed results and your cosmetic tattoo will have a longer lifespan. Mature clients may need an additional one to two weeks healing before the final results appear.

what payment methods do you accept?

A $100 deposit is taken online via PayPal at the point of booking. The remaining balance is due in cash on the day of your appointment. Payment can also be made using Zelle or Venmo if required.

What do i need to know before booking a cosmetic tattoo?

Clients with scarring, sun damage, acne or eczema in the service area should reach out for a consultation before booking. If you have previous cosmetic tattooing in the area you wish to get tattooed, you must email photos for approval BEFORE booking.

Those whom are pregnant, breast feeding, currently undergoing cancer treatment, currently prescribed blood thinners or antibiotics, as well as those prone to keloiding are unable to receive cosmetic tattooing as a result.

Cosmetic tattooing is a minimum two step process - the touch up appointments for all services are priced separately. In some instances, clients may need an additional touch up.

Typical healing schedule for Microblading & ombre brows

1-2 days after procedure - Your brows will look 30-40% darker, bolder and more solid than your healed result. There may be slight swelling but typically, as the eyebrow area does not retain much fluid, this will be limited.

3 days after - Your eyebrows will begin to itch and the pigment may appear to be a little raised. Do not scratch or pick at your brows – this can cause scarring and will pull the pigment out. The top layers of skin will begin to shed around about days 3-5 - you will see a loss of color. This is normal.

4-6 days after - The skin is now rapidly exfoliating and will shed evenly if left alone. The color under the exfoliating skin will continue to appear light until the epidermis takes on its more transparent characteristics.

14 days after - Your skin will typically have healed over and no longer be dry/flakey. At this point you may resume cleansing & moisturizing your face as you normally would. Your cosmetic tattoo will appear much lighter than you would expect - this is normal. As your skin continues to heal and regenerate, you will start to notice the color pop back. You will see your true healed results after 4 weeks. After 14 days, you may fill your brows in with makeup if you wish.

30-40 days after - Now is the time to critique your brows, the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis. It is perfectly normal for some areas of the tattoo to have lost pigment – this is why the touch up appointment is required. During your touch up, 6-12 weeks after your initial procedure, any sparse areas can be filled and the color can be darkened if you so wish.

Aftercare

·      NO soaking with water and no use of cleansers, creams, makeup or any other products on treated area for 14 days.

·      4-5 hours after your procedure, clean your brows by gently wiping once with distilled or boiled water (cooled to room temperature) on a paper towel or cotton pad. Ensure to squeeze any excess water from cotton pad/paper towel so that it’s not saturated and then wipe off any ointment or lymph fluids from the brows.

·      DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and will also pull the pigment out.

·      Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure.

·      Avoid heavy sweating for the first 10 days.

·      NO facials, Botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

·      Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.

Long-term care

·      I cannot stress enough the importance of using a good sunscreen; sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics

·      If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics

·      The use of RetinA/Tretinoin or any other rapid skin exfoliation products used regularly on the forehead area will cause the permanent makeup in the eyebrow area to fade prematurely.

·      The use of chemical peels and acid peels regularly on the forehead region can also cause eyebrow tattoos to fade prematurely.
